These two images are the original images that I used to create the kaleidoscopes.
This is a copy of the second kaleidoscope I made. Since the file was too big to upload I had to take a screenshot so this version is much smaller.

For this project we had to transform an image into a kaleidoscope. For the first one I used a picture of mountains and the aurora borealis. It came out okay, but I had difficulty getting it exactly on 45 degrees. Also even when I had it at 45 degrees there were still gaps between the pieces. I had to use the repair tool in order to make it look reasonable. I also made a second one using a picture of a nebula. However I accidentally made the file so big that I could only save it as a TIFF and it won't let me upload it because its so big. On that one I was unable to get it to 45 degrees because the handle kept snapping to 44.98 and 45.02. I just left it at 45.02 and used the smudge tool to correct it to look a little better.
For this project we had to do an "inside out" picture; basically a picture of something (a face) that had something else "underneath". I decided to do a woman and a skull. I had a hard time finding a skull that had the same or similar proportions to a face. Eventually I found one that matched nicely, especially with the shadow on once side of her face in the actual picture. Now it looks like she is sleeping and in the dark you can see her skull.

I made this picture from Photofunia.com. They had many effects and this one was a kind of filter that adjusted the lighting. The site had filters and effects but nothing that really edited the photo itself. If someone was just looking to change the lighting or something on a picture this would be a good choice.
This picture is from pixlr.com. I made this using a gradient. It is similar to photoshop as far as picture editing goes, but doesn't really have any effects (at least not in the advanced section). The other sections are more effects oriented. The second section is good for making things like a collage or adding symbolsto the picture. The third section is just adding effects to an existing picture. This website has a full set of editing abilities from basic effects, to actually editing a picture.
This picture is from photo505.com This site had lot's of things to do to the picture, such as put your face on the cover of Time, but it didn't really have anything else. It would be a good website if someone wanted to mess around and put there picture on billboards or magazines.
This picture is from Citrify. This site is good fro just adding effects that mess with the lighting or style of the picture, however it doesn't really change the actual picture. Again it would be good for someone who just wanted to mess with effects or lighting.

For this project we had to make a collage of portraits. The project needed nine portraits, some kind of background and grid lines between the portraits. Each of the portraits have different filters on them. For example the first one is a stained glass filter. The second has a lens flare and paint daub, an artistic filter. The third is a neon glow filter, etc. The middle one and the one under neath it have no filters, but I sort of wanted them to look reflected. The bottom one has an ocean ripple filter on it to make it look sort of like a reflection in water. The grid lines are uneven line tool lines.

In this project we had to make visual puns. We took four words that could be interpreted in different ways other than its actual meaning. I decided to use; Mother Earth, Butterflies, Serial Killer, and Second Hand Store. For the Mother Earth one I took an image of a mother and set it on top of an image of the earth. In the butter flies image I added wings to a stick of salted butter. For the Cereal Killer picture I made it appear as though the cereal was stabbed and bleeding from a mysterious arm. And finally on the Second Hand Store image I made a simple stor sign that used two hands.

This was just a quick project using wordle. The picture is of a road in a wood during fall. The words in front are Robert Frost's poem, The Road Not Taken.

For this assignment we had to take various pictures of five green things and turn them into a cohesive whole. I decided to make a face using the pictures. At first I couldn't think of an idea but after looking around on the internet I decided to make a face sort of like those faces that are sometimes carved out of wood. I don't think my face turned out like the wood carvings, because it is very rounded and doesn't have the right shape, but it still looks like a face. I think the best part of the picture is the hat because it looks like a hat and even has a kind of 3-D aspect that comes from the lines and shades of color in the distorted picture of the brim.

Animal

For this project I had to combine various parts of animals to create a hybrid, chimera animal. I wanted to make some thing really random but still cool so I drew inspiration from the chimera from Greek mythology. My animal had a zebra's body, two heads; one a lions, one a bulls, huge owl's wings, a cobra for a tail and an immunity to fire. The creature is standing in lava and in the corner there is a hunter who has been tracking the beast. I decided to place the hunter in the corner because the picture he originally came from was shadowing and that was the darkest area of the picture. I also had to resize the hunter and creature so that there would be some perspective.
